The pot your grandmother boiled milk in, made the same way it always was.

This brass patila brings back the traditional milk pot, the deep-walled pot built for gentle, even heating that keeps milk from scorching at the bottom or rushing over the sides. It is handcrafted by thatheras, the craft community behind India's only UNESCO-listed metalworking tradition, and made from 100% pure brass with a food-grade Malaysian tin lining applied through the age-old kalai process. That lining gives it a naturally non-stick surface, so milk, kheer and payasam release cleanly instead of catching on the base.

Brass distributes heat evenly across the base and up the walls, which is what slow cooking needs. Boil milk without a film of burnt residue, simmer dal and rasam, set curd, cook kheer and halwa, or make soups and one-pot meals. The sturdy side handles and fitted lid make it easy to lift, cover, and carry, whether you are cooking for two or for a house full of guests.

There is no PTFE, no PFOA, no lead, and no synthetic coating anywhere in this patila. The tin lining also keeps acidic ingredients like tomatoes, tamarind, vinegar and citrus from reacting with the metal, so it handles everyday curries as comfortably as it handles milk. Ayurveda values brass for its anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties and its role in supporting digestion and nutrient retention.

It comes with a matching lid and a free de-oxidising cleanser to keep the golden finish bright. Rated 4.9 out of 5 across 92 reviews.

Care and Use

• Cook on low to medium heat to protect the tin lining
• Use wooden or silicone spatulas, not metal, to avoid scratching the kalai
• Wash with mild soap and a soft sponge. Avoid steel wool and abrasive cleaners
• Dry thoroughly after every wash to prevent watermarks
• Brass oxidises naturally over time and develops a darker patina. This is normal and does not affect safety or performance
• Restore shine using P•TAL x Happi Planet de-oxidising solution, or a homemade scrub of atta, salt and lemon
• The tin lining typically lasts 6 to 12 months with regular use and can be re-coated through kalai

Warranty and Support

• Warranty: Lifetime warranty, built to outlast a lifetime of use
• Coverage: Manufacturing and craftsmanship defects in the brass body
• Not Covered: Natural fading of the tin lining with use, which is normal wear and can be restored through re-kalai, along with natural oxidation, dents from misuse, and damage from abrasive cleaning
• Note on Handcrafted Products: Slight variation in weight, size, and finish is characteristic of handmade cookware and is not a defect
• Support: WhatsApp expert chat and live video call shopping available on the product page
